Help and support
Quick answers, and how to reach us when they are not enough.
Where are my records kept?
Only on your phone, in an encrypted database. FamCura has no account and no server that receives them, so we cannot see or recover them.
How do I move to a new phone?
On the old phone open Backup and save a copy: to your Google Drive, or as a file you keep. On the new phone install FamCura, tap “Restore from a backup” on the Home tab, and enter the same passphrase. Without the passphrase a backup cannot be opened, by us or by anyone.
Restore from Google Drive says there are no backups
Sign in with the same Google account you used to make the backup. If you backed up with a different version of the app, restore from a backup file instead (Restore from a backup, then From a file).
I forgot my app lock PIN
On the lock screen tap “Forgot PIN?”. The only way back in is to erase FamCura’s data on that phone, then restore from a backup. We cannot reset a PIN, because we hold no copy of your records or your PIN.
My reminders do not ring
Open Reminders and read the “Reliable reminders” screen. On most phones you need to allow notifications, allow alarms and reminders, and take FamCura off battery saving. Then set a test reminder a minute ahead.
How do I delete everything?
Open Privacy (or Backup) and tap “Erase everything on this phone”. It removes your records, settings, passphrase, reminders and Google sign-in from that phone. Backups in your Google Drive are deleted only if you choose that.
Does FamCura give medical advice?
No. It helps you organise records, and shows each test’s usual range and a plain note on what it is. Your doctor decides what is right for you.
